I had the opportunity to meet Rachel Ashwell the designer of Shabby Chic and I have loved her beautiful furniture, bedding, fabrics and other home furnishing designs. She is my favorite home designer! The typical style of Shabby Chic furnings is a soft, relaxed, romantic decor that looks comfortable and inviting. She is very nice and friendly to everyone. The term Shabby Chic was orginally coined by Ms. Mirabel Cecil, a journalist and writer to refer to a style. Ms. Cecil described Shabby Chic as meaning "doing up your house in a lived-in fashion; nothing need to be new, nothing need match."
